Given that,

There are nine different digits, and we must choose 6 of them to create a 6-digit number; repetition is not permitted. 

Therefore, there will be as many 6-digit numbers as there are permutations of 9 different digits taken 6 at a time.

This is given by,

\begin{aligned} &{ }^9 P_6=\frac{9 !}{(9-6) !}\\\\ &{ }^9 P_6=\frac{9 !}{3 !}\\\\ &{ }^9 P_6=60480 \end{aligned}

Therefore, the number of digits formed is 60480.
