Given that, 

\begin{aligned} & \alpha=0.8 \\ & I_b=6 \mathrm{~mA} \\ & \beta=\frac{\alpha}{1-\alpha}=\frac{0.6}{1-0.6}=\frac{0.6}{0.4}=\frac{3}{2}=1.5 \end{aligned}

Since, 

\begin{aligned} \beta & =\frac{I_c}{I_b} \\ \Rightarrow & I_c=\beta I_b \\ & I_c=(1.5)(6)=9 \mathrm{~mA} \end{aligned}
