Empty box is allowed

So, number of ways of distributing \mathrm{'n'}distinct objects among \mathrm{'r'} identical places such that each one is filled with zero or more things is \mathrm{r^{n}}

Here, number of toys \mathrm{\mathrm{n}=6}
number of students \mathrm{\mathrm{r}=4}

Using the equation, we obtain:

\mathrm{r^{n}=4^{6}=4096}

Total number of ways: 4096
