\mathrm{ \frac{\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{s}}}{\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{c}}}=0.96 \Rightarrow \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{c}}=0.96 \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{c}} }

But \mathrm{ \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{c}}=\mathrm{L}_{\mathrm{c}}+\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{b}}=0.96 \mathrm{~L}_{\mathrm{c}}+\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{b}} \Rightarrow \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{b}}=0.04 \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{a}} }

\mathrm{ \therefore } \mathrm{ Current \; gain \beta=\frac{I_c}{I_b}=\frac{0.96 \mathrm{I}_c}{0.04 \mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{e}}}=24 }
