Given: \mathrm{R}=2 \Omega

Equivalent resistance between A and B

\quad \mathrm{R}_{\mathrm{AB}}=\mathrm{R} \| \mathrm{R}=\frac{\mathrm{R}}{2}=1 \Omega

Current through the circuit I=\frac{12-5}{(2+2+2+1)}=1 \mathrm{~A}

\begin{aligned} &\mathrm{V}_{1}-\mathrm{V}_{\mathrm{A}}+\mathrm{I}(2+2)+5=0 \\ &\therefore \mathrm{V}_{1}-0=-4-5 \quad\left(\mathrm{~V}_{\mathrm{A}}=0\right) \end{aligned}
