\quad 0.5 \mathrm{~g} of an organic compound gave 0.40 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{AgBr}.

\mathrm{mole\: of \: B{r}= \text{mole of } \mathrm{AgBr}=\frac{0.4}{108+80}=\frac{0.4}{188}}

\Rightarrow \mathrm{mass ~of ~Br=\frac{0.4}{188} \times 80=0.17}

So, in 0.5 gram of an organic compound,0.17 gram of Br is present

% Br in compound =\frac{0.17}{0.5} \times 100 \%

                            \\ =34 \% \\

Answer is 34 (nearest integer)
