\mathrm{FeO}+\mathrm{SiO}_{2} \rightarrow \mathrm{FeSiO}_{3}

\mathrm{FeO} \text { and } \mathrm{FeSiO}_{3} respectively are

Option: 1

gangue and flux.

Option: 2

flux and slag.

Option: 3

slag and flux.

Option: 4

Answers (1)

best_answer

In the extraction of Copper, \mathrm{SiO_2} is added as a flux to remove the impurity of \mathrm{FeO} (gangue) in the form of \mathrm{FeSiO_3} (slag)

\mathrm{FeO}+\mathrm{SiO}_{2} \rightarrow \mathrm{FeSiO}_{3}

\mathrm{FeO=Gangue}

\mathrm{FeSiO_{3}=Slag}

Hence, Option (4) is correct
