NaCl is only soluble in water but when a crown ether is added it is soluble in organic solvents. Why?
Change in oxidation state.
Change in polarity.
Change in charge of anion.
Change in hydration energy.
Because of sequestration of ion with crown ether the polarity of the complex changes and then it is soluble in organic solvents too.
