\mathrm{SiCl}_4 \: \&\: \mathrm{SnCl}_4 silly are hydrolysed to form acidic solution as well as they can act as lewis acid because they can increase their co-ordination number grater than 4 due to availability of d-orbitals.

\mathrm{ \mathrm{SiCl}_4+4 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \rightarrow \mathrm{Si(OH)}_4+4 \mathrm{HCl} }

\mathrm{ \mathrm{SnCl}_4+4 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \rightarrow \mathrm{Sn}(\mathrm{OH})_4+4 \mathrm{HCl} }

\mathrm{ \mathrm{SiCl}_4+2 \mathrm{Cl}^{-} \rightarrow\left[\mathrm{SiCl}_6\right]^{2-} }
