As we learnt in

Manufacture of Na2 CO3 by solvay process -

Brime (NaCl) ammonia and carbon di oxide are the raw materials calcium chloride is a by-product

- wherein

NH_{3}+CO_{2}+H_{2}O\rightarrow NH_{4}HCO_{3} \\NH_{4}HCO_{3}+NaCl\overset{30^{\cdot c}}{\rightarrow}NaHCO_{3}\downarrow +NH_{4}Cl \\NaHCO_{3}\overset{250^{\cdot C}}{\rightarrow} Na_{2}CO_{3}+H_{2}O+CO_{2}\\ 2NH_{4}Cl+Ca (OH)_{2}\rightarrow CaCl_{2}+2H_{2}O+2NH_{3}

Sodium Carbonate is synthesized by the Solvay process. To recover ammonia, the recation goes as follow

2 NH4Cl + Ca (OH)\rightarrowCaCl+ 2H2O + 2 NH3

Thereforeby product obtained is Calcium Chloride, CaCl2.
