Same gas is filled in two vessels of the same volume at the same temperature. If the ratio of the number of molecules is \mathrm{ 1: 4}, then
A. The r.m.s. velocity of gas molecules in two vessels will be the same.
B. The ratio of pressure in these vessels will be 1:4.
C. The ratio of pressure will be \mathrm{ 1: 1.}
D The r.m.s. velocity of gas molecules in two vessels will be in the ratio of 1:4.
Choose the correct answer from the options given below :

Option: 1

\mathrm{\mathrm{A} \text { and } \mathrm{C} \text { only }}

Option: 2

\mathrm{\text { B and D only }}

Option: 3

\mathrm{A \text { and } B \text { only }}

Option: 4

\mathrm{\mathrm{C} \text { and } \mathrm{D} \text { only }}

best_answer

\mathrm{V_{r m s}=\sqrt{\frac{3 R T}{M}} }

\mathrm{P=\frac{N K_B T}{V}}

\Rightarrow RMS velocity of gas in independent of the number of molecules

\mathrm{\Rightarrow \frac{p_1}{p_2}=\frac{N_1}{N_2}=\frac{1}{4}}

The ratio of pressure will be 1 / 4

\mathrm{\rightarrow \: Statements\: A \& B\: are\: correct }

Hence 3 is correct option
