As we learnt in 

Equation of I -

I= I_{0}\sin \omega t= I_{0}\sin 2\: \pi\: \nu\: t

I= I_{0}\sin \frac{2\pi }{T}t

- wherein

\omega= Angular frequency

\nu = Frequency

T =  time period

 

Average value of A.C. for complete cycle is zero. Hence A.C. an not be measured by D.C. ammeter.
