Preparation of glucose and fructose from sucrose ( cane sugar ) -

Sucrose is boiled with dilute  HCl or H_{2}SO_{4} in alcoholic solution , glucose (dextorotatory) and fructose (laevorotatory) are obtained in equal amount .
