10 log x = a dB ; \therefore x = a/10 dB ;

10 log x = 30 dB ; \therefore log x = 3 dB ; \therefore x = 1000;

10 log y = 60 dB  ; log y = 6 dB \therefore y = 106

\therefore This sound 60 db is 1000 times longer than 30 dB.

Sound level in decibels -

\beta = \: \: 10 \log_{10}\left ( I/I_{0} \right ),\\for \: \: I=I_{0}\\ \beta =0

- wherein

Where I is the intensity of the sound and I_{0}  is a constant reference intensity = 10-12 W/m2
