Continuous x-ray -

\lambda ^{min}=\frac{hc}{ev}

- wherein

Also called cutoff wavelength . All other wavelength are greater than this.

 For X ray.

\lambda ^{min}=\frac{hc}{ev} \Rightarrow \lambda ^{min} \alpha ^{-} \frac{1}{v}

As we increase the applied potential difference, \lambda ^{min} will decrease.

Option 1)

the maximum wavelength increases

This solution is incorrect.

Option 2)

the minimum wave length increases

This solution is incorrect.

Option 3)

 the minimum wavelength remains unchanged

This solution is incorrect.

Option 4)

the minimum wave length decreases

This solution is correct.
