As we learnt in

Freundlich adsorption isotherm -

Freundlich gave an empirical relationship between the quantity of gas adsorbed by unit mass of solid adsorbent and pressure at a particular temperature

- wherein

\frac{x}{m}= K.p^{1/n} (n>1)

 Freundlich adsorption isotherm is represented as

\frac{x}{m}= kp^{1/n}

At high pressure \frac{1}{n} = 0

\Rightarrow \frac{x}{m} \propto P^{0}

At low pressure \frac{1}{n}=1

\Rightarrow \frac{x}{m}\propto P

Option 1)

\frac{x}{m}\alpha P^{0}

This option is incorrect.

Option 2)

\frac{x}{m}\alpha p^{1}

This option is incorrect.

Option 3)

\frac{x}{m}\alpha p^{1/n}

This option is incorrect.

Option 4)

All the above are correct for different ranges of pressure

This option is correct.
