As we lerant in

Isosteres -

Molecules or polyatomic ions containing same number of atoms and the same total numbers of electron are called isosteres.Generally isosteres have identical lewis structure.

   Example\rightarrow CO,\:N_{2}\:and\:CN^{-}

-

 Number of electrons in SO{_{3}}^{2-}= 16+8\times 3+2= 42

Number of electrons inCO{_{3}}^{2-}= 6+8\times 3+2=32

Number of electrons inNO{_{3}}^{-}= 7+8\times 3+1=32

These are not isoelectronic species as number of electrons are not same.

Molecule/Ion |     Number of Electron

{PO_{4}}^{3-}                         50

SO_{4}^{2-}                            50

CN-                                      14

N2                                                14

C_{2}^{2-}                               14

SO_{3}^{2-}                             42

CO_{3}^{2-}                            32

NO_{3}^{-}                              32

BO_{3}^{3-}                             32

SO_{3}^{2-}SO_{3}^{2-} & NO_{3}^{-} are not isoelectronic species.

Option 1)

PO{_{4}}^{3-},SO{_{4}}^{2-},Cl{_{4}}^{-}

This is option is incorrect.

Option 2)

CN^{-},N_{2},C{_{2}}^{2-}

This is option is incorrect.

Option 3)

SO{_{3}}^{2-},CO{_{3}}^{2-},NO{_{3}}^{-}

This is option is correct.

Option 4)

BO{_{3}}^{3-},CO{_{3}}^{2-},NO{_{3}}^{-}

This is option is incorrect.
