Option: 1

Hyperconjugation in substrate

Option: 2

Polarity of solvent

Option: 3

Free radical formation

Option: 4

Electromeric effect the substrate

Answers (1)

best_answer

On bromination of phenol gives tri substiuted product while in non-polar solvent soch as \mathrm{CS_{2}} or \mathrm{CHCl_{3}} or mono substituted product. This is for each case of formation of bromium ion in polar solvents than non-polar solvents.

Hence, Option (2) is correct.
