The magnetic field at the center of current carrying circular loop is \mathrm{ B_{1}}. The magnetic field at a distance of \mathrm{\sqrt{3}} times radius of the given circular loop from the center on its axis is \mathrm{B_{2}}. The value of \mathrm{B_{1} / B_{2}} will be

Option: 1

9: 4

Option: 4

5: \sqrt{3}

Answers (1)

Magnetic field at the centre of current carrying coil is

\mathrm{B_{1}=\frac{\mu _{o}i}{2r}}\rightarrow (1)

Magnetic field at the axial position

\mathrm{B_2=\frac{\mu_0 i r^2}{2\left(r^2+x^2\right)^{3 / 2}}

\mathrm{x=\sqrt{3}r }

\mathrm{B_2=\frac{\mu_0 i}{16r}}

\mathrm{\frac{B_1}{B_2}=8}

Hence 3 is correct option.
