As we have learnt,

The inner electrons create a shield between the valence electrons and the nucleus. As a result, the effective nuclear charge felt by the valence electrons decreases. This leads to a decrease in the ionisation potential as it becomes easier to remove them from the force field of the nucleus due to a lessening in the effective nuclear charge.
