Amine inversion -

The nitrogen atom in amines having 3 different group is chiral but the molecule is optically inactive because of rapid pyramidal inversion which is attributable to the presence of lone pair of electrons on N atom. The interconversion from one enantiomeric form to other takes place via planar nitrogen i.e., sp^{2} hybridised nitrogen as shown below.

 During nitrogen imersion , as the lane pair tunnels through the nucleus , the nitrogen has just three attachments , so this nitrogen atom is trigonal planer with sp^2  hybridization
