what is the main difference between molarity an normality???

Answers (1)

Molarity and Normality shows that concentration of a solution. Normality contains Molarity as we see in the formula. Molarity formula is formed with mol divided to liter of solution. Normality is formed with Molarity times equivalent value. Equivalent is a measure of the reactive capacity of a given chemical species (ion, molecule, etc.). Shortly, we should look the hidronium and hidroxide ion. In redox reaction, the value depends on number of electron.

So, Molarity is necessary for preparing solution but Normality is the only concentration unit that is reaction dependent.
