Which of the following has maximum number of molecules?

a. 7 g N2 b. 2 g H2 c. 8 g O2 d.20 g NO2

Answers (1)

we know that,

No. of moles is given by

= Molecular weight (M)/ given Weight (W)

Therefore,

(a) No. of moles in a option =7 /28= 0.25 moles

(b) No. of moles in b option i.e H2=2/2 = 1 mole

(c) No. of moles in c option =16 /46= 0.347 moles

(d) No. of moles in D option =16 /32= 0.5 moles

Now as H2 has maximum no. of moles, thus it has maximum no. of molecules
