If N is the number of electrons possing through any cross-section of the wire and e is the charge of an elctrons, then

q=N e \text { and } I=\frac{q}{t}=\frac{N e}{t}

So, \begin{aligned} N=\frac{I t}{e} & =\frac{1 \times 8}{1.6 \times 10^{-19}} \\ & =5 \times 10^{19} \text { electrons } \end{aligned}
