  • Option 2)

    Be_{2}

  • Option 3)

As we learnt in

Bond Order -

Bond order is defined as one half the difference between the number of electrons present in the bonding and the antibonding orbitals.

- wherein

Bond \:Order=\frac{N_{b}-{N_{a}}}{2}

 Be_{2}^{+}=\sigma 1s^{2} \sigma^{*}1s^{2} \sigma 2s^{2} \sigma^{\ast}2s^{1}

B.O.=\frac{1}{2} (2-1) =0.5

Be_{2}=[\because ]\sigma 2s^{2}\sigma^\ast2s^{2}

B.O.=\frac{1}{2} (2-2) =0

B_{2}=[\because]\sigma 2s^{2}\sigma^{\ast}2s^{2}\pi^{1}_{2px} \pi^{1}_{2py} place

B.O.=\frac{1}{2} (4-2) =1

Li_{2}=[\because]\sigma2s^{2}

\therefore B.O=\frac{1}{2} (2-0)=1

When B.0 = 0, no bond formation can take place.
