P4O10, white solid, formed when P4 is burnt in excess of air

- wherein

P_{4}+5O_{2}\rightarrow P_{4}O_{10}

 

 

Structure of Phosphorus Pentaoxide, P_{4}O_{10}:

Clearly, there are 6 bridging oxygen atoms.
