Size of insert in other vectors -

Bactripohage-can take up to N 25 Kbps.

Cosmid-constructed vector contains cos site from \lambda phage DNA with plasmid and can take up to 45-48 kb insert.

Plasmid-Contains phase DNA and plasmid DNA and can take up to 100 kb.

BAC-can take up to 250-300kb  insert

YAC-can take up to 500 Kbs insert

MAC-can take up to 1 Mbp insert

This project was proposed in USA (1986). USA, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Italy, Korea, Russia, Nederland & Sweden countries were Involved.

- wherein

  • Human genome Contains 3164.7 million nucleotides
  • Total genes are approximately 30,000.
