In a common emitter transistor amplifier the audio signal voltage across the collector is 3 V. The resistance of collector is 3 k\Omega. If current gain is 100 and the base resistance is 2 k\Omega, the voltage and power gain of the amplifier is :

  • Option 1)

    200 and 1000

  • Option 2)

    15 and 200

  • Option 3)

    150 and 15000

  • Option 4)

    20 and 2000

Amplifier -

Transistor is used as an amplifier

- wherein

in such circuit output is amplified as compared to input .

\left.\begin{matrix} V_{o}=3V & \\R_{L}=3K \Omega & \end{matrix}\right|    \begin{matrix} \beta =100 & \\ R_{in}=2 K \Omega & \end{matrix}

Voltage gain =\beta.\frac{R_{L}}{R_{in}}=\frac{3K\Omega}{2K\Omega} \times 100=150

Power gain= \beta^{2}\frac{R_{L}}{R_{in}}=10^{4}\times \frac{3}{2}=15000

Option 1)

200 and 1000

This option is incorrect.

Option 2)

15 and 200

This option is incorrect.

Option 3)

150 and 15000

This option is correct.

Option 4)

20 and 2000

This option is incorrect.
