Type of defect- Hypermetropia. It occurs when the eye is too short, and the image is formed behind the retina. Convex lenses help by converging the light rays before they enter the eye, bringing the image onto the retina.

$\text{Focal length: } f = \frac{1}{P} = \frac{1}{0.5} = 2\,\text{meters}.$
