Option: 1

\mathrm{O}_2, \mathrm{H}_2

Option: 2

\mathrm{H}_2, \mathrm{O}_2

Option: 3

\mathrm{Na}, \mathrm{O}_2,

Option: 4

\mathrm{O}_2, \mathrm{Na}

Answers (1)

Electrolysis of water is the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas on account of passing of electric current through water.

2 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{H}_2+\mathrm{O}_2

At anode, oxidation takes place and reduction takes place at cathode. Since, oxidation of oxide ion occurs in the reaction, oxygen shall be collected at anode. And hydrogen ion shall reduce to hydrogen at cathode.
