the phloem supplies the food to aerial and different parts of the plant body in ncert terms it supplies from source to sink nd source and sink are changed acc to plant needs so sink can be one time upwards of direction and another time downwards direction of plant  so the phloem is bi directional

The transport of substances over long distances through the vascular system, xylem and phloem.

Transportation of nutrients can occur from leaves to roots and other parts of plants or from roots to the new leaves. Hence,sugar transport is bidirectional.
