Second phase of cell division marks the complete disintegration of the nuclear envelope. Spindle fibres attach to the kinetochore of chromosomes.

Chromosomes move to spindle equator and get aligned along metaphase plate through spindle equator and get aligned along metaphase plate through spindle fibres to both poles
