Dissolved oxygen (DO) -

Amount of oxygen that water can hold in the solution

DO in cold water = 10 ppm.

 

 and

Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) -

The amount of oxygen required for five days in one litre of water at 200 C for the microorganisms to metabolite organic waste.
