C(diamond)+O_{2(g)}\rightarrow CO_{2(g)}.........\Delta H=y\ kJ

Now,

C_{(graphite)}\rightarrow C_{(dimand)},

So,

 eqn(1)-eqn(2)

\Delta H= \left ( x-y \right )\ kJ/mol
