Concept- The de Broglie wavelength (λ) of a particle is inversely proportional to the square root of its kinetic energy. $$
λ∝ \frac{1}{\sqrt{K}}
$$

  • Let the initial kinetic energy = K
  • Final kinetic energy = 50% more than initial = 1.5K

Ratio of initial to final de Broglie wavelength = $$
 \sqrt{\frac{1.5K}{K}}≈ 1.225
$$
