Tishchenko reaction -

In the presence of aluminium ethoxide, aldehydes form esters.

Cannizzaro's reaction -

Shown by aldehydes which do not have \alpha- H atom and undergo disproportion (self-oxidation reduction) process to produce alcohol and carboxylic acid salt.

\mathrm{2HCHO\xrightarrow[]{conc.NaOH}HCOONa+CH_{3}OH}

Both are disproportionation reactions (one species undergo both oxidation and reduction)
