Cassiterite

Option: 3

Galena

Option: 4

Magnetite

Answers (1)

Froth floatation method is used to remove gangue from sulphide ores. Froth floatation process is used for the concentration of sulphide ores of copper, zinc and lead.

Galena \mathrm{(ZnS)} is a sulphide ore of zinc.

Magnetite \left ( \mathrm{Fe_{3}O_{4}} \right ) is an ore of iron. Cassiterite \left ( \mathrm{SnO_{2}} \right ) is an oxide ore of tin. Fluorspar is halide ore of Calcium \left ( \mathrm{CaF_{2}} \right )

Since among the given ores, only galena contains sulphide ion, thus it is best concentrated by froth floatation method.
