# 17(iii) A and B are events such that  P(A) $\small =0.42$ , P(B) $\small =0.48$  and P(A and B) $\small =0.16$. Determine (iii)  P(A or B)

H Harsh Kankaria

Given, P(A) = 0.42,  P(B) = 0.48 and  P(A and B) = 0.16

(iii) We know,

$P(A \cup B) = P(A)+ P(B) - P(A \cap B)$

$\implies$ $P(A \cup B) = 0.42 + 0.48 - 0.16 = 0.9 - 0.16$

= 0.74
