Acceleration of the motorboat, $a$ = $3.0\ m s^{-2}$

Time taken, $t = 8\ s$

(b) We know, $s = ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2$

$\\ \implies s = 0(8) + \frac{1}{2}(3)(8)^2 \\ \implies s = \frac{1}{2}(3)(64) \\ \\ \implies s = 96\ m$

Therefore, the distance travelled by the motorboat is $96\ m$
