According to question we have 2 solute,

Solute 1. :  25\% of 300 g gives :

                                                      \frac{25}{100}\times300 = 75\ g

Solute 2.  :  40\% of 400 g gives :

                                                       \frac{40}{100}\times400 = 160\ g

So total amount of solute =  75 + 160 = 235 g.

Thus mass percentage of solute is :

                                                              = \frac{235}{700}\times100 = 33.5\%

and mass percentage of water   = 100 - 33.5 = 66.5\%
