The time taken by the sound to travel from the source to the reflecting surface will be half of this time:

$= \frac{3}{2} seconds$

Hence,

$Distance = Speed\times Time$

Substituting the values in the equation, we get the distance,

$Distance = 342\ m/s\times 1.5s = 513\ m$
