Parthenocarpy is the process of formation and development of fruits that occurs without any kind of fertilization. The fruit produced by this process does not contain seeds. Fruits such as pear, banana, pineapple, and some varieties of papaya are parthenocarpic fruits. In order to induce parthenocarpy, auxins, cytokinin and gibberellins are utilized.
