$f(x)=\sin ( x + a )$

Now, As we know the chain rule of derivative,

$[f(g(x))]'=f'(g(x))\times g'(x)$

Applying this property we get,

$f'(x)=\cos ( x + a )\times 1$

$f'(x)=\cos ( x + a )$
