Primary productivity varies from ecosystem to ecosystem. Explain?
Primary productivity is the biomass produced per unit area over some time by photosynthesis. In simple terms, we can say that it is the amount of biomass produced by green plants in a particular ecosystem. Plant population varies from one ecosystem to another. The number of plants is higher in tropical rainforests compared to deserts. Therefore, primary productivity would be much higher in tropical rainforests than in deserts. This shows that primary productivity varies from one ecosystem to another ecosystem.
