Solve each of the following questions using appropriate Euclid’s axiom: In the Fig.5.7, we have 1 = 2, 2 = 3. Show that 1 = 3.
To Prove: 1 = 3
Here, it is given that 1 = 2, 2 = 3
We observe that 1 and 3 both are equal to 2. In other words, both are equal to the same thing. Hence from Euclid’s axiom, things which are equal to the same thing are equal to each other.
So, 1 = 3
Hence proved.
