Impulse imparted can be calculated by knowing the change in momentum.

The initial momentum of each ball is :

                                                        p_i\ =\ mu\ =\ (0.05) 6\ =\ 0.3\ Kg\ m/s

The final momentum is given by :

                                                         p_f\ =\ mv\ =\ (0.05) (-6)\ =\ -\ 0.3\ Kg\ m/s

So the impulse is :

                                                I\ =\ p_f\ -\ p_i

or                                                   =\ -0.3\ -\ 0.3

or                                                   =\ -0.6\ Kg\ m/s
