The functions of Androgens are given below:

Androgens are male sex hormones produced by the Leydig cells of the testis. These mainly consist of:

Testosterone:

  • Testosterone promotes spermatogenesis and other processes for the maturation of sperm.
  • It stimulates the growth and development of the male reproductive system.
  • It stimulates the development of secondary sexual characteristics such as a beard and moustache.
  • It promotes the development, maturation, and functions of the male accessory organs like epididymis and prostate glands.
