Q

# Write the following rational numbers in ascending order: (iii) -3 /7, -3/ 2, -3 / 4

Q 10.     Write the following rational numbers in ascending order:

(iii)      $\frac{-3}{7},\frac{-3}{2}, \frac{-3}{4}$

Views

Given $\frac{-1}{3},\frac{2}{9}, \frac{-4}{3}$

LCM of $7,2\ and\ 4 =28$.

Therefore, we have

$\frac{-3\times4}{7\times4}, \frac{-3\times14}{2\times14}, \frac{-3\times7}{4\times7}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{-12}{28}, \frac{-42}{28}, \frac{-21}{28}$

Since $\frac{-42}{28}<\frac{-21}{28}<\frac{-12}{28}$

Hence, the required ascending order is

$\frac{-3}{2}<\frac{-3}{4}<\frac{-3}{7}$
