(a) How do leaves of plants help in excretion? Explain briefly.
(b) Describe the structure and function of a nephron.
a) Plants excrete in the form of gas. And excretion of these gaseous waste takes place through stomatal pores on leaves. Oxygen released during the process of photosynthesis is used for respiration while carbon dioxide which is released during respiration is used for photosynthesis.
b) Nephron is the basic structural and functional unit of the kidneys that regulates water and soluble substances in our blood by performing the filtration process of the blood, reabsorbing what is needed, and excreting the rest in the form of urine. Its function is essential for homeostasis of blood volume, blood pressure, as well as plasma osmolarity.
