(a)The resistance of conductor in shape of wire depends on following factor ?

1. length of conductor

2. The Cross-sectional area of conductor.

3. The temperature of conductor.

4. Nature of material used.

(b) For a material to be a conductor it has to have a reasonable number of free electrons. The more the number of free electrons available the better it is as a conductor. Glass has no free electron in crystaline structure therefore, it is an insulator where as metals have large number of free electron in room temperature thus metal are good conductor of electricity.

(c) Alloy are used in electrical heating devices because (1) they have a higher resistivity as compared to pure metals and has higher melting point.(2) They do not burn in oxygen.i.e, they do not get oxidized readily at higher temperature.
